One of the surprises of the sale was a 1937 International/National Fire Equipment Co. quad fire apparatus that was transformed into a monster truck. It’s claimed to be the longest monster truck in the world at 37 feet-10 inches and riding on 66x43x25 tires while weighing 29,650 pounds. The apparatus, an ex-Danville, Ky., fire department unit, has been re-powered with a Cummins turbo diesel engine coupled to an Allison transmission, and now has an articulated rear axle. read more...
